As the term suggests, you pay a fee to use the car, but you become its owner after a while. It’s as simple and accessible as renting or a simple car subscription, but unlike a traditional car rental plan, it’s a long-term investment.

At Splend, our rent to buy plan is called Flexi own.

Yes, the essence of rent to buy is that you become the sole owner of your car at the end of your agreement.

Our Rent to buy fleet includes fully electric cars (EV) models, carefully selected to be compliant with rideshare and on-demand delivery regulations.

All our cars come with a Private Hire Vehicle (PHV) licence, valid MoT, as well as fully comprehensive insurance.

Rent to buy is best suited for full-time drivers. Our Flexi own plan has the following conditions: you must be at least 23 years old, and hold a full UK driver’s licence with a good driving record. You also have to be a permanent UK resident, having lived in the country for at least the past year.

In order to qualify for a rent to buy car you also need to have at least one active rideshare driver account (Uber, Bolt, Ola, Free Now, etc).

Yes! Rent to buy is an option even if you’re not eligible for car finance or any other credit option. The reason is simple: on our Flexi own subscription you always pay in advance, for the upcoming week, so there’s no credit involved.

It’s similar to a traditional car subscription, but you put your hard-earned money toward owning the car and building your driving career.

Our  cars come with an agreement including 700 miles per week. We charge excess mileage separately, at £1 for every 10 miles you travel over your driving allowance.

With Splend, you’re covered in case of an accident due to the comprehensive car and liability cover included with our cars. Read more below:

Our Flexi own plan provides liability cover for you and your passengers, as well as comprehensive car cover.

With the Loss and Damage cover included in the Flexi own subscription, there is an excess of approximately £1,000 for any insurance claim. The exact amount varies by your risk category, and the excess for non-fault claims may be partially or fully refundable.

Yes, our comprehensive car cover included in the Flexi own plan covers most day-to-day driving, including using the car for business use such as ridesharing and delivery work.

In order for a car to be eligible for Uber, it must have four independently opening doors, it has to be in good condition with no cosmetic damage, and with no commercial branding.

It must also meet the latest emission standards enforced by TfL, and have all its paperwork in order to obtain a Private Hire Vehicle Licence.

Uber car subscriptions are a main part of our activity at Splend, so we only have car models that are ideal for rideshare and delivery work and are in high demand among Uber drivers and other on-demand workers. The PHV licence comes standard with all of our cars.

Yes, we have a growing range of fully electric (EV) models on our Flexi own plan. We provide PCO-approved electric cars with all the essentials, so you can get on the road fast.

You can also take advantage of incentives from rideshare providers such as Bolt and Uber to reduce the cost of owning a car through Splend.
