We sat down with three of these legends, Nicole, Michael, and Rupinder, so you can get to know them better.
Nicole Brown
What are you bringing to Splend, Nicole, what’s your background?
I have many years’ experience with PCV and PCO drivers, and I’ve also worked in insurance and customer service. I’m also bringing great vibes!
What do you enjoy about working at Splend?
I love that I’m in a great working environment, surrounded by a helpful and friendly team.
Where might we find you when you’re not at work?
I love shopping. Most weekends I spend going to pop-up markets and small unique shops. I do love a good cocktail also, so finding quirky cocktail bars is also a favorite pastime for me.
What’s your favourite movie?
Grease – I know it word for word. I can’t count how many times I’ve watched it.
What is your favourite place in the world?
I have a few but, I would have to say Jamaica. Sun, rum, and great music – you can’t go wrong. I usually go there every year.
What is your favourite car and why?
Volkswagen Beetle – this was my first car.
Michael Smith
What are you bringing to Splend, Michael, what’s your background?
I’ve worked in and around the taxi industry for 8 years and I’ve had the pleasure of learning a lot during that time.
One thing I’ve learned over my journey is that customer focus is key, so I’m excited to work closely with Splend customers and provide them with the quality service that Splend is known for.
This is the sole reason that I joined the team.
Where might we find you when you’re not at work?
In and around sport. Mainly watching, but always happy to jump in too.
I’m an outdoors person and also an avid gamer – not the most common combo, I know.
What’s your favourite food?
My wife’s lamb curry with homemade chapatis. Nothing beats it, but I have to go for a run after it to burn those calories off!
What’s your favourite chocolate bar?
Wispa Gold.
What’s your favourite car, and why?
I have never driven one, but an E-Type Jaguar would be my all-time favourite. It’s such a great car to look at.
From a work point of view, I love the Toyota Corolla Hybrid since it’s got that extra boot space, which is so handy for rideshare and delivery.
Rupinder Malhi
What are you bringing to Splend, Rupi, what’s your background?
I’m chilled-out by nature, which is always appreciated in any work environment. I’ve previously worked for Addison Lee as a Fleet Administrator.
What do you enjoy most about working at Splend?
Splend is a great place to work overall, but I particularly enjoy the work culture.
Where might we find you when you’re not at work?
I like to go out in the city with my friends.
What’s your favourite movie?
I love the Home Alone series, watching it has become part of my holiday ritual.
What is your favourite place in the world?
I have a busy life, so simply arriving home is sometimes the highlight of my day.
What is your favourite car and why?
My favourite is my current car – a Volkswagen Tiguan R-Line.
